The "Jalan Sibu/ Bawang Assan / Serendeng and Batang Lebaan Bridge" project involved the construction of a vital roadway and a reinforced concrete (RC) bridge spanning 1.3 kilometers. The Jabatan Kerja Raya commissioned this project with a total budget of 260 million. The construction work commenced in 2004 and concluded in 2010.

The primary objective of this project was to enhance connectivity between Sibu, Bawang Assan, Serendeng, and the surrounding areas. The inclusion of the Batang Lebaan Bridge, a significant 1.3 km RC structure, was a key component in ensuring reliable and safe passage over the river.
